Happy father of two, radiologist, hard core bicycling activist and greenie. Since coming to Savannah in 2006, I have been heavily involved in the Coastal Georgia Greenway and have been working with a dedicated group to build a Savannah bicycling advocacy group, Savannah Bicycle Campaign. We are the folks who started Savannah Wheelie, the first of which was held with much success on April 19, 2008 with over 250 riders -- hipsters, hippies, retirees and families riding alongside the mayor and Pete Liakakis among many other public officials. Check us out, as we're doing it every month on the third Sunday.
I also serve on the board for Clean Coast, which has been working for years to protect our barrier islands' wildlife from marine debris.
I ride my bike to work, and I think that given the proper tools, so could just about everyone.
